And be honest with yourself about how often you're actually in genuinely congested locations — a packed stadium or a crowded event a few times a year is a very different tradeoff than a daily commute through a dense downtown core where slower speeds during rush hour would actually bother you.
For our family, the tradeoff was straightforward once I tracked a real month of usage instead of guessing: coverage that held up everywhere we actually go, speed that only dipped in the one scenario the pricing model predicts it would, and a bill that's meaningfully smaller every single month with no fine print waiting to erase the savings later.
